Clearasil Ultra Pimple Blocker Pen Review
You don't need to be a teenager to suffer from breakouts. I have
sensitive skin and although it stays pretty clear, I do get a pimple now
and then that mars my otherwise smooth complexion. I have a desk job so
my problem probably has a lot to do with putting my hands on my face, my
chin and forehead in particular. I know I shouldn't do it but it's not a
conscious effort. Bad Girl!
Always looking for a solution, I bought Clearasil Ultra Pimple
Blocker Pen after I saw a magazine ad. It was something I wanted to try
although I was skeptical (some reviews I read were not too favorable.) I
previously used Clearasil Maximum Strength Acne Treatment Cream for my
blemishes but did not feel that it helped much. It was tinted and stuck
out like a sore thumb when applied. Definitely not something I could
wear out in public.
I waited patiently for my next pimple (sounds pathetic, I know.)
Well, lo and behold... I got one and was in for a pleasant surprise. I
applied Clearasil Ultra Pimple Blocker Pen before I went to bed. The
next morning, the pimple was nearly gone. After one more application, it
was zapped. Since then, I have used it on many zits with great results.
I did try this product on under-the-skin, cystic type pimples and
unfortunately, it did not help me. It appears to work on those closer to
the surface.
This product is appealing to me for several reasons. The pen-type
container is easy to carry and and enables me to apply the gel without
using my fingers. I just twist the pen it until the product comes out of
the tip. The gel is clear, dries quickly and can be worn without being
detected as long as I don't glob it on (globbing also causes excessive
dryness in the area.) It does have a mild medicinal odor that I don't
notice after the gel dries. It's a 2% Salicylic Acid acne medication
that works much better for me than 10% Benzoyl Peroxide.
The Clearasil Ultra Pimple Blocker Pen does cost more than other
creams and you don't get nearly as much product. One bad month or two of
breakouts and it goes quickly. Still, it's worth the extra cost for me
and I will be getting more.
Update: A year and a half later, I still use this
product. It still works great for me and will continue to use.
