ProAcne Clear Skin Solutions - Product Review

ProAcne is a 3-step, dermatologist-preferred home acne treatment system for all types of acne. Formulated for teens to adults, and all skin types, it is comparable to Proactiv Solution. While the ingredients are different, the results are promising. ProAcne also has a time-released benzoyl peroxide and is available in stores -- so you won't have to pay shipping charges.

Like most teens, I have problems with acne. I became interested in ProAcne when I spotted it in Wal-mart. I then purchased it because it was similar to Proactiv, cheaper, and I needed something to clear up my blemishes.

There are three different solutions, each in their own plastic bottle. The purifying cleanser and renewing toner are both 4 fl. oz and the repair lotion is 2 fl. oz.

I used the product twice a day, as instructed. First I used the cleanser, which claims to exfoliate dead skin cells and remove dirt and oil. It's just like soap, so you just lather it on and then rinse.

For unclogging pores and controlling oil production, the next step is the toner, which I applied to my entire face with cotton balls and did not rinse off. It gave my face a clean, tingling feeling.

The final step is the repair lotion, which is supposed to work deep below the skin's surface and attack the bacteria with a time-release, 24 hour formula. This step is important because it is supposed to prevent new breakouts. You can use a cotton ball to apply it, but it was easier for me just to use clean hands instead.

ProAcne was effective in clearing my skin, although I still experience some minor blemishes. Since this is an acne treatment, I thought it would dry out my skin, but I was pleased to find that my face is much softer and smoother.

I plan to keep using Pro Acne and will definitely recommend it to others. It was worth every penny. I am confident that I won't experience any acne scars because the problem is now under control.

Pros - It is a home remedy... I noticed an improvement in about a week... The solutions didn't have the strong, medicated smell I expected... It costs much less than than other leading acne remedies.

Cons - It took awhile to apply all three solutions, so it can be time-consuming... I ran out of the toner before the lotion and cleanser, probably because the cotton balls I was using absorbed too much... The best thing to use would probably be thinner cotton pads.

Editor's Note: Wal-Mart and other stores have pulled "ProAcne" off of their shelves due to some "issues" which do not have anything to do with the quality of the product itself. The good news is that you can find this product repackaged as "AcneFree" at Walgreen's, Wal-Mart and Target. Go Here to read Jenny's three product comparison of ProActiv, ProAcne and the new AcneFree.
