Review for Lancome Soleil Flash Bronzer Products

Summer is on it's way, and I'm looking for a product to give me a quick, natural looking tan -- without the risk of the sun's UV rays. In my quest, I discovered Lancome's "Bronze Temptation," a self-tan sun kit that was recommended by the cosmetics clerk at a local department store. Of course, she wanted to make a sale, but I'm always willing to try something new.

The kit contains three products from their "Expert Sun Care" collection and is designed for a dark, sunless tan that can be achieved at home. I paid $32.50 for the kit, which if I had purchased the products separately, would have cost me about $48.00. Now that's a deal I couldn't resist.

Soleil Flash Bronzer Tinted Self-Tanning Moisturizing Mousse

The mousse is tinted, so it's easy to apply evenly and avoid streaking. It glides on smoothly and has a very pleasant scent, unlike many self-tanning lotions. I loved the iridescent glow it gave me immediately upon application. It gave me an instant tan that turned a little darker after about an hour, as it promised.

I wanted my skin a little darker yet, so I applied it a second time. On subsequent applications, I applied the mousse two times, just minutes apart. This was easy to because it dries quickly and evenly.

I was very curious about the self-tanning face lotion. My face doesn't usually take very well to self- tanning lotions and often, it remains pale. I was pleasantly surprised at the quick, dark tan that the lotion gave me that matched the rest of my body.

There was no need for a second application of this product, I just applied it, let it dry, and put on some make-up. This is by far, my favorite of the three Lancome products in the kit.

Soleil Ultra SPF 40 Sunscreen

It's important to remember that these self-tanners do not include sunscreen, and you won't be protected from the sun unless you apply one separately. The Ultra SPF 40 sunscreen is for both your face and body, but the kit came with just a small, 1 fl. oz. tube. This won't last long, so you'll have to decide it you want to purchase a larger tube separately. I love the scent but I'm not so sure that it's worth the additional money compared to other SPF 40 sunscreens.

I have sensitive skin and didn't experience any skin irritations or breakouts using any of these Lancome Expert Sun Care products. They worked well and I achieved a great tan with the least effort compared to other sunless tanning products.

I will probably purchase another kit, or just the self-tan face bronzer separately. For someone wanting a sun-kissed look for Summer, these products provide a safe alternative to soaking up the sun's dangerous rays.
